Animating New In-Game Chat Feature
The chat, or the reality check feature, was supposed to be implemented for Baccarat and Roulette. Stickers and predefined messages would appear in the chat, on the UI, and on the tablet beside the dealer.
Timeline
6 weeks
My contribution to this project was that in a close collaboration with a head of design, I participated in a brainstorming session, helped creating GUI kits, took responsibility for the storyboarding and animation.
The Challenge
The tricky part of the project was to to build this feature in a way that it doesn't distract players or interfere with the betting.
The Solution
During the betting round, players are only able to send quick reactions using the chat toggle. Once the dealing stage starts, the "edit" and "expand" icons are enabled. Users can customise the sticker panel, or expand the chat and send one of the predefined messages or a sticker.

Sales Deck Presentation
Besides animating this feature and documenting its functionality, I participated in preparing the presentation for the sales department. An example of this part of my work you can see in the screenshot on the right. It explains what happens on the UI, tablet and on the dealer module device when a user sends a sticker.

In the video below, I'm demonstrating the full functionality of the chat, including the 5 seconds cooldown stage, which has mechanics similar to the circular countdown. This example shows the chat opened during the Speed Baccarat game round hence the choice of the predefined messages.
